Cozy up, I am glad you are here!

I'm Taylor, the creator of Guiding Breath. Breathwork found me when I wasn't even looking for it, and it completely changed the direction of my life.

At the time I was actually seeing a therapist who had asked me if I had tried breathwork in the past. I remember thinking, "what is breathwork?" One of the most common questions I get asked today. My mind immediately went to therapy basics I would teach clients like deep breathing and what not. I was not familiar at all with the idea of conscious connected breathwork. Even though I wasn't sure what it was I remember thinking "I'll give it a try" and so I did.

That one session ended up being one of the most powerful healing experiences of my life. Not only did I heal past trauma, change beliefs at a visceral level, and process through so many emotions, but something had shifted. I had found my intuition, and it felt like a direct channel to God had opened. Messages and downloads were just coming through. Through the breath, I felt a deep knowing about what to do and what was meant for me. From that initial session I knew I was called to teach people breathwork and to share it with the world. Breathwork moved through my body in a way that talk therapy alone had never quite reached, leaving me on an absolute high and sparking a whole new passion.

How Breathwork Became my Path

After that first session, I continued the journey with the same facilitator and completed 10 rebirthing breathwork sessions.

Every. single. session. left me completely in awe and inspired. Every. single. time.

I was amazed at this healing modality. How did more people not know about it? Every session had brought something different. Sometimes it was emotional release. Sometimes clarity. Sometimes healing trauma. Sometimes confidence. Sometimes direction. And sometimes just feeling deeply connected and grounded. And every time I would walk away thinking "more people need to experience this."

Eventually that curiosity turned into training and I became a breathwork facilitator myself. Outside of the breathwork world, I am also a licensed mental health therapist in the state of Minnesota. I specialized in anxiety, trauma, burnout, infertility, and life transitions. As a therapist I was always drawn to more somatic approaches, so naturally I started weaving breathwork into the work I was already doing. With therapy, there are a lot of licensure rules and regulations, and certain things you can and can’t do when working with insurance. My hope is that over time breathwork becomes more accessible within the mental health field.

All of this eventually led to a deeper pull to create something fully dedicated to breathwork. And that’s how Guiding Breath came to life.

This business really was “breathed into existence.” So much of the passion, vision, and ideas came to me during breathwork sessions themselves, and I know that will continue to be part of Guiding Breath’s journey. Heck—the breath is guiding the business! As I grow and change, I trust Guiding Breath will evolve right along with me.

For a long time I felt like I needed the entire vision perfectly figured out before launching something. But lately I’ve been learning to trust the process. It’s okay to start before the whole picture is clear. I’m letting this space grow into what it’s meant to become and trusting the right people will find it when they’re meant to.

A Little More About Me Outside of Breathwork

Outside of breathwork, I'm still practicing as a therapist in the state of Minnesota-- another passion of mine! I'm trained in clinical hypnosis, accelerated resolution therapy, and ego state therapy (a parts work modality).

I'm also a wife- my husband and I have been married almost six years and we have a beautiful daughter who is almost two years old. Being her mom is one of the greatest joys of my life.

Another important part of my story is my faith. I grew up Christian but didn’t fully make it my own until a mission trip in high school. Over the years I drifted away and explored different spiritual ideas, but during a really intense season of life in 2025, breathwork actually brought me back to my faith in God and Jesus. Because of that, faith is something I share openly here. I do offer some faith-based breathwork groups and retreats, however, everyone is welcome in this space regardless of beliefs (Afterall, breath is something we all share!)

Now for a little more about me as a human. I love Zumba and dancing, and I’ve lived in both Nicaragua [where I met my hubby] and Colombia (which is where my love for bachata comes from!). I love to travel, hike, and be outside as much as possible. I’m someone who loves to play, laugh, and have fun. I’ve been to 31 countries so far, and my next goal is 40 before 40! I also love camping, spending time with friends and family, and being adventurous.

I’m not a gamer, but I do love Monkey Ball. And lately, something else taking up a lot of my time is training for my first full marathon this summer. I’ve never really considered myself a runner… but now I tolerate it, and sometimes even enjoy it. It has been on the bucket list for a long time and 2026, year of the fire horse, seems to be the year!!!

Curious about Breathwork?

If you're new to breathwork, you're not alone. Most people I talk to have either never heard of it, have misconceptions, or only have a vague idea of what it is.

The main practice I guide in both groups and individual sessions is conscious connected breathwork. It can be a very powerful practice and has several benefits. If you are interested in learning more about conscious connected breathwork, click the button below!

I plan to write many more blog posts so you can really learn all things breathwork, but if you want to start exploring breathwork right away, you can download my free beginner breathwork guide you can download it below.
